City Highlights

  • Interim City Manager, Howard Martin, has conducted an evaluation of the organizational structure of the City of Denton and announced today various promotions and departmental changes.
  • THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE AND THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.01 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $19.97.
  • The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) directed the City of Denton to sample for lead and copper during the months of June through September 2016.
  • Two samples of mosquitoes collected on Sept. 13 from traps at the following locations tested positive for West Nile virus: the 3800 block of Market Street and a location near the intersection of Shady Shores Drive and Lakeview Boulevard.
