The Water Utilities Department began selling Dyno Dirt products in 1997. The compost products are made primarily from yard trimmings, which are collected by the Solid Waste Department and waste activated biosolids recycled from the Pecan Creek Water Reclamation Plant. Dyno Dirt products help prolong landfill life by recycling material that might otherwise go unused. Add some healthy fun to your landscape!
What are Dyno Dirt Products?
They are a line of soil conditioning and compost products made and sold by the Water Utilities Beneficial Reuse Division. These products have excellent soil conditioning and moisture retention properties and provide natural slow release fertilizing properties. Dyno Dirt and Dyno Soil are wastewater biosolid products that meet all TCEQ requirements of "uncontrolled use" as a soil conditioner and organic fertilizer. The Dyno Dirt composting program is an excellent example of city-wide recycling cooperation. Materials used in making Dyno Products include the yard trimmings collected from the Solid Waste Department's yardwaste collection days and waste activiated biosolids recycled from the Pecan Creek Water Reclamation Plant. Not only are Dyno Dirt products an efficient use of resources, they are excellent soil additives.
What Can Dyno Dirt Products Be Used For?
Dyno Dirt can be used in a variety of applications including landscape planting and mulching, lawn establishment and maintenance, flower gardens, nursery crop and green house production, and turf and sod production.
