City of Denton Residents

Residents of the City of Denton are eligible for a free library card. To receive your card just bring  proof  of current mailing address and a photo I.D. to any of the library locations. You are never to young to receive a card, but the child must be present at the time the card is issued.

If you live outside of city limits of Denton you have options for library access: 

  • Full Access cards: $50.00 annually
    This option allows non-residents access to unlimited checkouts for the entire year, electronic databases from the library and home, downloads of electronic media and e-books, and extra key fobs for the entire household.
  • Student/Teacher Full Access cards: $30.00 annually
    This option allows non-residents, who are enrolled or teaching full time in any formally recognized educational entity, including home school, at the high school level or below, a full access card. The student must be present when the card is issued, and a teacher must present a school district ID card.
  • Punch Cards: $15.00 or $20.00
    This option allows non-residents to borrow up to 15 items for $15.00 or 30 items for $20.00. The punch cards do not allow access to the online databases, or to downloadable content. There is no refund or unused checkouts or free replacements for lost cards.
