Planning & Development
Tree Preservation Ordinance

The Planning Department will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the proposed Code and to solicit your input on the Proposed Tree Code.  The meeting will be held on February 24, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers (215 E. McKinney Street).  All comments will be thoroughly considered and will be incorporated into the final draft as much as possible, prior to the Planning & Zoning Commission (P&Z) public hearing.

Staff will repost that recommended version after P&Z has made recommendations and make it available to you again.  In the event there are any changes, they will be highlighted for easy reference.

Staff will present the P&Z recommended proposed Tree Code to the City Council via work session for their direction and input.  Thereafter, staff will post that version of the draft code and make it available to you, in case there are any changes from the City Council work session.

The final version of the Tree Code that will be considered for adoption by the City Council will also be made available to you prior to the City Council public hearing.  The City Council public hearing will be duly advertised, and as always, you are invited to attend and participate.

If you have any comments or need any additional information concerning this matter, please contact Chuck Russell at 940-349-7705.  In addition, Mr. Russell may be e-mailed at chuck.russell@cityofdenton.com

Sincerely,

Mark Cunningham

Director, Planning and Development Division.
