The Denton Police Department Internal Affairs Unit exists to promote the highest standards of professional conduct possible. To accomplish this, we seek your feedback regarding both positive and substandard performance. The department is committed to investigating all complaints of misconduct, regardless of form, source, or substance.
The Internal Affairs Unit is staffed by two investigators and a sergeant. The unit reports to the Assistant Chief of Police. Internal Affairs tracks employee performance and investigates allegations of employee misconduct. This unit does not conduct criminal investigations on Department employees.
Submit a Compliment or Complaint
We want to recognize our staff for doing great work. We also want to know where we can improve. Compliments and complaints can be filed anytime through the following methods:
- At the complainant's location (residence or business in the City of Denton) at their request
- At the police station, including the lobby kiosk
- Directly to Internal Affairs (in person during regular business hours, or by telephone)
- To any Denton Police Department member
- In writing to the Office of the Chief of Police, or by email, fax, or mail
