Volunteer

Make a difference by volunteering! The City of Denton and our partners provide various volunteer opportunities for you to give back to the community and serve neighbors in need.

Volunteer at Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center

Volunteers from the community and local organizations are major contributors to the maintenance of the trail system and the success of events and projects at Clear Creek. To get involved, complete the form.

Volunteer for the Library

Teen and adult volunteers help build community by promoting lifelong learning, encouraging human connections, and sharing resources. Volunteer at the Animal Shelter

Volunteers play an important role in providing our shelter pets a positive experience while housed at Denton Animal Services. We have different opportunities to work both directly and indirectly with animals. Our volunteers can serve as greeters, lobby representatives, photographers, cat or dog room attendants, dog exercisers and socializers, offsite events, and laundry attendants.

All volunteers must attend an orientation and training session. Children ages 13 to 17 are welcome to volunteer if a parent or guardian is present for orientation and during all volunteer times. Group and one-time volunteer opportunities are also available.

Email the Animal Shelter or use the form to sign up for an orientation session.

Foster a Pet from the Animal Shelter

Fosters are always needed to temporarily open their hearts and homes for dogs and cats of all ages during their journey to finding their forever homes. The care and socialization during this time significantly increase cats' and dogs' chances of adoption. Fostering pets that have temporary medical needs or are too young to be adopted gives them an opportunity to grow stronger and healthier before making their adoption floor debut.

If you are interested in fostering a pet, fill out the form or email the Animal Shelter.
