The City of Denton is leading community efforts to address homelessness.
There is no one cause of homelessness, rather, there are multiple factors that can lead to an individual or family unexpectedly losing their housing. Factors such as availability of affordable housing, household income, health problems, family violence and racial disparities can all impact housing stability. The City of Denton is engaged in multiple efforts to address homelessness and ensure every person in the community has a place to call home that is safe, affordable, accessible and supported by community resources.
The City of Denton has a number of initiatives and projects in progress to support the Denton County Homelessness Leadership Team’s goals and strategic plan to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring.
