Residential Permits
Notice: The City of Denton has adopted the 2021 International Building Codes. See links under "Helpful Documents" for more information for specific code adoption information. All permits applied for on June 1st, 2022 and after must meet the 2021 International Building Codes.
Notice: The City of Denton does not issue a Certificate of Occupancy for new residential construction or residential alterations once all construction is completed and final inspections are passed. If you need proof of completed inspections please log into eTRAKiT and print the Final Inspection Report. Here is a guide on how to view the Final Inspection Report.
Online Permit Portal
The eTRAKiT Portal is now available. The Building Safety Division uses the eTRAKiT Inspection Request Portal to schedule structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and final inspections. An eTRAKiT training guide (PDF) is available as well.
