Celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks display at North Lakes Park on Sunday, July 3. The fireworks launch site is located between the disc golf courses at North Lakes Park, south of W. Windsor Dr., near the pond on N. Bonnie Brae St. Click here for a PDF of the site map.

9:30 p.m. | Fireworks launch and last approx. 30 minutes
Food and Drinks
Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the softball field and Vela Soccer Complex concession stands. Coolers are allowed; however, no alcohol, glass, or knives. There will be no vendors or events on-site.
Parking Options
Parking is allowed in City-owned designated lots only. All other properties and parking lots require permission from the owner to park and view the fireworks. Denton PD will be enforcing no parking zones along thru streets.
Paid Parking
North Lakes Park area parking lots for $10 per car, cash only. Proceeds benefit Denton Noon Kiwanis Club.
Free Parking
North Lakes Dog Park, Vela Sports Complex, RC Airfield parking lots.
ADA Accessible Parking and Viewing
North Lakes Recreation Center parking lot (see map). First come, first served; TXDMV placard must be displayed.
Traffic Patterns and Road Closures
Anticipate an increase in traffic due to event attendance. In consideration of the heavy traffic and to ensure a safe event, normal traffic patterns will be altered, and some roads will be temporarily closed to thru traffic.
Inbound Modifications (coming)
- Parkside Drive @ Windsor Drive will be closed for thru traffic from 6-11 p.m.
- Fireside Lane @ Windsor Drive will be closed for thru traffic from 6-11 p.m.
- Gravel access road for the Disc Golf Course off N. Bonnie Brae St. will be closed to the public all-day

Outbound Modifications (going)
- After the fireworks show, northbound Bonnie Brae Street will be required to turn right onto eastbound Elm Street (US 77). Drivers will be able to U-turn at Nicosia St., if needed.
- Several intersections will be PD controlled, most notably on Bonnie Brae Street. Please refer to the outbound route map for expected changes in exit traffic patterns.

- Head south on I-35
- Exit 471 for Loop 288
- Exit East Loop 288
- Take first Exit US77 toward Denton
- Right on US77 at the stop sign
- Parking available on Bonnie Brae St., Nicosia St., and Windsor Dr.
From South Denton/Corinth Area:
- Head north on I-35E/I-35W
- Exit 469 for US380/University Drive
- Right on East US380
- Left on N Bonnie Brae
- Head north to North Lakes Park

- Head north on I-35E/I-35W
- Exit 470 for Loop 288
- Right on East Loop 288
- Take first Exit US77 toward Denton
- Right on US77 at the stop sign

Parking will be available in the North Lakes Park area parking lots for $10 per car, cash only. These lots will be operated by and benefit the Denton Noon Kiwanis Club. Parking is free at the North Lakes Dog Park and Vela Sports Complex parking lots.
ADA accessible parking and viewing will be available on a first come, first served basis in the parking lot nearest North Lakes Recreation Center (see map). TXDMV placard must be displayed.

This event is solely a fireworks display and no other entertainment will be on-site.

Softball, soccer, and football field restrooms will be open, in addition to porta-potties.
The Denton Fire Department would like to remind residents that it is illegal to use or possess fireworks within the Denton city limits or to use fireworks within 5,000 feet of the city limits.
It is recommended to keep pets indoors to minimize reactions to the sights, sounds, and smells of fireworks. Providing a safe location with water and a TV or radio playing can keep stress levels lower.
The City of Denton Animal Shelter encourages that all pets are wearing identification/are microchipped and are registered with the City in case of escape.
If the event is cancelled due to rain, communication will be posted on the City’s website cityofdenton.com/fireworks. In the event of cancellation due to weather, the show will not be rescheduled.
