Annual Events
With a population of more than 147,000, Denton is far from rolling up the sidewalks at night. Denton hosts many festivals and events throughout the year in cooperation with various City departments, local organizations, schools, and universities.
From the Arts and Jazz Festival to the Yankee Doodle Parade, Denton has long been a popular place in the Metroplex. These events are one of the many reasons why Denton is a great place to live, work, and play.

My Little Valentine Family Dance
Celebrate Valentine's Day with your family by bringing out your best dance moves at the My Little Valentine Family Dance at the Denton Civic Center.

Eggstravaganza
Hop on over for an Eggstravaganza of bounce houses, food vendors, arts and crafts, face painting, balloon twisting, and an easter egg hunt with over 40,000 eggs!

Redbud Festival
Find out more about the Redbud Festival, Denton's official Arbor Day celebration that features home and garden vendors, workshops, family-friendly activities, and live local music.

Make Music Day
Held annually on June 21, this daylong, musical free-for-all celebrates music in all its forms, encouraging people to band together and play in free public concert.

Denton Revealed
Established in 1973 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, during the month of May, events are planned to promote historic places to instill national and community pride, promote heritage tourism, and show the social and economic benefits of historic preservation.

Independence Day
The City of Denton sparks celebration with its annual Independence Day festivities! Liberty Fun Run, Yankee Doodle Parade, and July Jubilee Festival.

End of Summer Celebration
Party on as we encourage a love of reading and learning among children and adults alike! The End of Summer Celebration marks the end of the Summer Reading Challenge for children, teens, and adults.

City Block Party
This event is the perfect opportunity for Denton residents of all ages to come out and connect with the individuals who serve our community. Meet and greet local officials and staff, including police officers, firefighters, City staff, and Council members. It's a unique opportunity to ask questions, learn more about City services, and discover what exciting developments are in store for the community.

National Night Out
National Night Out is all about community! In October every year, residents are encouraged to turn on their porch lights, step outside, and get to know their neighbors and public safety personnel.

Stream Clean
You can make a difference in our community by volunteering for this event, which improves the appearance of our city and impacts our quality of life by targeting specific waterways in and around Denton. When litter makes its way into our storm drains and drainage ditches, it doesn't stop there — it ends up in our lakes, streams, and rivers.

Community Tree Giveaway
An annual drive-thru event, established by Keep Denton Beautiful in 1999, that provides free trees to Denton residents each October. Several hundred native or adapted trees are distributed to residents on a first come, first served basis at this one day event to support urban forestry efforts.

Great American Cleanup
Established by Keep Denton Beautiful in 1987, this is Denton’s largest, and longest-running citywide litter cleanup. Join more than 1,500 volunteers in this annual spring effort to remove litter from our roadways, parks, trails, and waterways and then celebrate with a volunteer lunch party.

City Sponsored Events
The City of Denton provides sponsorship funds to support non-profit and civic-minded programs and organizations. These events help enhance the vitality of Denton, and enrich the quality of life for both locals and visitors.
