Come spend the night in South Lakes Park! You’ll pop your tent in designated areas, eat dinner, have fun, play games, go on a scavenger hunt, sit around the campfire eating s’mores, night hike or stargaze, and then off to sleep under the stars. Wake up with the sunrise, maybe do some yoga, and enjoy breakfast.
Outdoor Expo family activities include fun and educational programs from the Elm Fork Chapter of Master Naturalists, campfire stories by Tejas Storytellers, and more!
Registration for the campout is required. Each registered family will receive two meals (dinner on Saturday evening and breakfast on Sunday morning, vegetarian option available if requested by May 20) and s’mores.
Participants are responsible for providing all of their own camping equipment, as well as the setup and takedown of tents.
What to bring:
Tent (participants are responsible for setup & takedown of tents)
Reusable water bottle (water coolers will be available to fill bottles)
Insect repellent and sunscreen
Snacks and drinks (No alcohol or glass containers)
A chair or blanket for campfire
Recycled container for nature craft
No pets allowed. No electricity is available. No shower facilities. Personal campfires are not allowed.

This event will be held rain or shine unless extremely dangerous conditions exist. No refunds will be given.
Tent Decorating Contest
There will be a tent decorating contest Saturday evening so bring your most creative stuff to ‘spruce’ up your tent. Prizes will be awarded to the most creatively decorated tents (1st-3rd place).
**Family Campout Safety Protocols**
Social distancing is encouraged during event. Dinner, breakfast and s’mores supplies will be prepackaged. Additional guidelines may be implemented to ensure a safe experience for all participants depending on city, state, and CDC recommendations and guidelines at the time of the event.
