[ARCHIVED] City of Denton to Hold Clear the Shelter Event

Free pet adoptions and product giveaways available

DENTON, TX, Aug. 24, 2022 – The City of Denton will be conducting a Clear the Shelter pet adoption event Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center (3717 N Elm St.). During the event, all adoption fees will be waived. Adopters will receive a gift bag, and a box of Adaptil Calm or Feliway Classic with each adoption, which aids in managing stress and anxiety in animals settling into their new homes.

The Animal Shelter will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the adoption event. 

Persons wishing to support the shelter are encouraged to:

  • Share information about the event on social media
  • Sign up to volunteer for future events
  • Make a shelter donation through the Denton Animal Support Foundation 
  • Donate pet food, peanut butter, and/or dog/cat toys at the Animal Shelter during normal operating hours
