Wreaths Across America is a program whose mission is to Remember, Honor and Teach. Annually, Wreaths Across America partners with various civic organizations, schools, scouts, and religious organizations across the country to place a wreath on each hero’s grave. National Wreaths Across America Day occurs in December. “It’s a day that has been set aside to lay wreaths at the places where we remember, honor and teach about our veterans: Cemeteries, monuments, parks… Anywhere we can pay tribute to their sacrifices.”
Locally, on December 17, 2022, at 11 a.m., the City of Denton will host a Wreaths Across America program to honor our heroes at Oakwood Cemetery, 747 East Prairie St., Denton, TX 76205. These heroes have sacrificed their lives daily and the holiday season is a perfect time to honor them. Our goal is to have 253 wreaths placed by volunteers at our heroes’ graves. We invite community members and organizations to sponsor a wreath by visiting our website: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX1167. Sponsorship options include:
