City Facilities Closed Friday, Nov. 11
DENTON, TX, Nov. 4, 2022 – City of Denton facilities will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14. Please note the following with respect to specific City of Denton services and facilities.
Libraries
All libraries will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 and will resume regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 12.
Animal Services and Shelter
Animal Services and the Linda McNatt Animal Care & Adoption Center will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 and will resume regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 12. For animal-related non-emergencies, call (940) 349-8181 and select option 8. In case of an emergency, call 911.
Parks and Recreation
Denia Rec Center, MLK Jr. Rec Center, North Lakes Rec Center, Denton Senior Center, American Legion Hall Senior Center, Denton Civic Center, and Goldfield Tennis Center will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11.
The following facilities will be open on Friday, Nov. 11:
- North Lakes Driving Range- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Denton Natatorium Leisure Pool- 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Denton Natatorium Competition Pool- 5:30 a.m. to 6:55 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Public Safety
Public safety personnel will be on duty during the holiday. The Denton Police Department non-emergency number is (940) 349-8181, and in case of an emergency, dial 911.
Utilities
Customer Service will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11. To report a utility service emergency, call utilities dispatch at (940) 349-7000.
Solid Waste and Recycling
Landfill hours for Nov. 11 will be 7 a.m. to noon.
Commercial customers with scheduled collections will be serviced Friday, Nov. 11, but no same-day service will be offered.

Airport
Airport administrative offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11. The air traffic control tower will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the airfield will remain open 24 hours per day. Flight services will be available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the holiday.
