Internal Audit has released a new follow-up report covering operational changes made in response to the Audit of Capital Project Administration: Planning & Design (PDF) and the Audit of Capital Project Administration: Construction (PDF).
The City of Denton has implemented a new construction project management software which has generally helped to improve documentation consistency throughout the planning, design, and construction project stages. The CIP Department is in the process of updating its Project Management Manual to reflect this implementation. Previously observed issues of compliance with procurement regulations for design agreements and construction contracts seem to be resolved. New processes have been developed to further document and expedite change order authorizations. All payments for construction work appear to have been made per contract terms.
