Denise has been serving at the Denton Senior Center as a volunteer in numerous capacities over the years. She serves on the volunteer Advisory Council and advocates for other members of the center. Her main priority currently is serving as the Library Committee Chair, meaning she oversees all the donations and organization, book sales, and coordinates the small group of library volunteers. Denise is also a volunteer at Aletha’s Craft Store inside the center, which is a small gift shop with handmade goods made by community members. Working in the store, Denise greets shoppers and handles the day-to-day.
Volunteering with the Denton Senior Center brings her great joy because of all the people she meets here. Staying active and giving back to the center with her time and talents keeps her motivated and feeling good. If you have thought about volunteering with Parks and Recreation, her encouragement is, “Go for it. Get involved. It feels great!” In fact, if you would like to help with the senior center library, look for this friendly face to see how you can help!
