DENTON, TX, Feb. 1, 2023 –Due to inclement weather conditions, City facilities will continue to be closed on Thursday, Feb. 2. All essential staff, including Police, Fire, Denton Municipal Electric (DME), Public Works, and Utilities, will remain on duty. Remote services, such as utility billing and Municipal Court services, will continue for most City departments.

Parks and Recreation
All Recreation Centers and Parks Facilities, including all after-school programming, will be closed Thursday, Feb. 2.
Libraries
Emily Fowler, South Branch Library and North Branch Library will be closed Thursday, Feb. 2.
Solid Waste and Recycling
Residential trash and recycling collection has been suspended Monday, Jan. 30 through Thursday, Feb. 2.
- Feb. 3 and 4: Trash-only collection will be conducted on Friday, Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. 4 of this week. Customers are asked to leave their trash containers by the curb for pick up on those days.
- Week of Feb. 6: Next week, crews will collect Trash and Recycling on regularly scheduled collection days, however, no bulk or yard waste will be collected.
- Week of Feb. 13: Normal collection will resume the week of February 13.
The City of Denton Landfill will open at noon on Thursday, February 2.
The Home Chemical Collection Facility will be open for Chemical, Appliance, and Recycling Drop-off only Friday (8 am-4 pm), Saturday (8 am to noon), and during regular hours the week of Feb. 6. Scheduled curbside collections will resume the week of February 13.
Animal Services
The Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center will be closed Feb. 2. Staff will only be responding to emergency calls for the duration of the ice event. To report an animal non-emergency, call (940) 349-8181 and select option 8. In case of an emergency, call 911.
Public Safety
Public safety personnel will remain on duty. There may be response time delays to non-emergency calls for service due to deteriorating road conditions and increasing 911 calls. To reduce non-emergency call load, residents are encouraged to file police reports online at www.cityofdenton.com/policereport. In case of an emergency, call 911. The Denton Police Department non-emergency number is (940) 349-8181.
Denton Police and Fire continue to encourage residents to avoid driving and stay indoors if possible. Sidewalks and roads can be hazardous due to black ice. If travel is necessary, remember to move over/slow down for emergency vehicles, accelerate and decelerate slowly, and use extreme caution.
Utilities
Utilities customers can pay online, by phone, by mail, and by drop box. To pay your bill or speak with a Customer Service representative, customers should call (940) 349-8700. There will be no service disconnects Monday, Jan. 30, Tuesday, Jan. 31, Wednesday, Feb. 1, and Thursday, Feb. 2. Please visit www.cityofdenton.com/paymybill to pay online.

Municipal Court
All items on the afternoon docket for Monday, Jan. 30, Tuesday, Jan. 31, Wednesday, Feb. 1, and Thursday, Feb. 2 will be rescheduled to a later date. To speak with a Court Clerk, call (940) 349-8331. Airport
Denton Enterprise Airport administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 2. The air traffic control tower will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the airfield will remain open 24 hours per day. Airport Operations is available 24/7 at (940) 349-7722.
