[ARCHIVED] Citizens Fire Academy Registration is OPEN

CitizenFireAcademy

The Citizen Fire Academy is a 9-week program designed to open the lines of communication between the Denton Fire Department and the community. Classes meet one evening per week and are at no cost to the participants. An additional “field day” will be on a Saturday.

The curriculum is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the operational dynamics of the Denton Fire Department and the critical role citizens play in our prevention efforts. Each presentation to the class is given by firefighters who specialize in the job area they are representing. For example, rescue personnel will demonstrate specialized techniques and Arson Investigators will explain how they catch the people who start fires.

Any citizen who lives or works in the city of Denton is eligible to attend the Citizen Fire Academy. Each class is limited to 25 people and participants will be chosen to ensure a broad community representation.

The schedule for 2023 will be Thursday evenings April 6 – June 1, with a field day of May 13.
