Are you looking for healthcare resources in Denton? Come check out all that Denton has to offer through our Health Fair. This is an educational opportunity to learn about the health care we have in our community!
The Martin L. King, Jr. Recreation Center, and American Legion Hall Senior Center are collaborating with the Denton County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Healthcare Sidekick, and Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center to host the annual Health Fair. This year, the Health Fair has been expanded to cover topics on Healthy Cooking, Cardiovascular Health, Mental Health Resources, and Dermatology/Skin Care.
The speakers will host mini-sessions on each topic for you to engage and learn about the opportunities for you. Also, the Health Fair will feature vendors from various areas within the health field such as the Foster Grandparents Program, Legal Aid of North West Texas, Denton County Public Health, and Aetna Better Health of TX, and offer many resources available for families, veterans, and persons with disabilities.
Free blood pressure checks, cholesterol checks, and more will also be available. Health passports will be handed out to help participants keep track of their medical information, screening results, and anything else they may need. The health passports will also allow participants to enter the raffle by visiting each booth and receiving a sticker or stamp. Fun-filled goodie bags with health information will be passed out to the first 300 people. Free Bounce Houses and face painting will be available for youth. Come play at the Martin L. King Jr. Recreation Center on May 20, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
