Internal Audit has released a new report covering the administration of the City's fuel credit card program including, program structure, fuel card issuance and storage practices, and transaction accountability and monitoring.
The City of Denton has established pedestrian- and cyclist-related mobility plans and design standards; however, specific goals have not been established to show progress towards implementing these plans. Additionally, funding for improving pedestrian and cyclist facilities exists; however, it is generally limited and not dedicated. Still, progress toward increasing the pedestrian facility network is being made. Further, the City's sidewalk, bike lane, and traffic signal maintenance could be enhanced by documenting procedures. Additional geographic information system resources may be needed to further improve facility condition monitoring. Finally, while enforcement activities seem generally effective when initiated, additional public education and specific regulations could further curb unwanted resident behaviors. Detailed findings can be seen in the Audit of Fleet Services Operations: Fuel Card Administration (PDF) report.
