DENTON, TX, Oct. 9, 2023 – The Denton Police Department continues to seek the public’s help in identifying and locating the vehicle that fatally struck a pedestrian on Sunday, Sept. 24.
Traffic investigators are searching for a dark-colored Peterbilt truck cab with a livestock trailer that failed to stop after the collision. The suspect vehicle was captured on a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen below:
At 10:19 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, officers responded to the northbound I-35 service road at W. University Drive after callers reported that a pedestrian had been struck and seriously injured. The pedestrian, now identified as 60-year-old Christopher Yarmie, was pronounced deceased at a hospital later that night.
After the crash, the tractor-trailer was last seen traveling west on W. University Drive. Anyone with information about this vehicle is asked to call Traffic Sgt. Jared Raye at (940) 349-7992.
