DENTON, TX, Oct. 24, 2023 – The Denton Police Department requests the public’s assistance with identifying the driver and locating the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian on Monday night.
At 9:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, officers responded to a major crash call in the 2500 block of N. Elm Street where an injured woman was located on the sidewalk. Traffic investigators determined that a vehicle struck the woman then left the scene.
Based on evidence recovered, the suspect vehicle has been tentatively identified as a black 2010-2013 Kia Optima. The vehicle’s passenger side mirror (pictured below) is missing, and additional damage to the vehicle from the crash is possible.
The victim was transported to a hospital, and she is expected to recover from her serious injuries.
