2021 Mayor-Council Business Awards

City of Denton recognizes local businesses

 

DENTON, TX, [December 8, 2021] –  Each year the Denton Mayor and City Council Members have the honor of recognizing local businesses for their exceptional support of City departments and others in the community. Businesses are nominated by City departments, partnership organizations, and the Economic Development Partnership Board for such worthy contributions as public/private partnerships, job creation, community relations and support, longevity and commitment to the community, leadership in their respective industry, successful business practices, innovation, and environmental stewardship.   

 

Recipients of this years Mayor-Council Business Awards are:

 

Applejacks Liquor – Outstanding Community Support During a Natural Disaster 

Bunch Bikes – Small Business Leader of the Year

Cable Contractors LLC DBA Contract Equipment and Services – Outstanding Support in Technology Services 

Denton County Brewing Company – Outstanding Community Support During a Natural Disaster 

First State Bank – Outstanding Partnership & Economic Impact in Downtown Denton

Fisher59 – Large Business Leader of the Year

Flowers Bakery Company – Outstanding Community Support During a Natural Disaster 

Freedom Commercial Services – Outstanding Community Partner

Fresenius Kidney Care South Denton – Outstanding Community Support During a Natural Disaster

Kwik Kar of Denton – Outstanding Community Support During a Natural Disaster 

LashUp BrowDown – Minority/Woman/Veteran Owned Business of the Year

North Central Texas College – Outstanding Partnership & Economic Impact in Downtown Denton

The Chestnut Tree Bistro – Outstanding Small Business Leadership in Downtown Denton 


 















Recipient selection criteria previously adopted by the Economic Development Partnership Board is utilized to aid in the nomination and selection of a recipient company. Consideration is for business exhibiting these characteristics September 2020 – August 2021.


Featured photo: Economic Development developed a new recognition category for the 2021 business awards: Minority/ Woman/ Veteran Owned Business. LashUp BrowDown, is the first business to receive this recognition from the City.
