[ARCHIVED] City of Denton Recognizes Minority/Women/Veteran Owned Business of The Year, Lashup Browdown

Denton business, LashUp BrowDown was awarded the inaugural Minority/Women/Veteran Owned Business of the Year from the Denton Economic Development Partnership Board. Voted “Best of Denton” and Top Three Best of Denton County by the Denton-Record Chronicle, LashUp BrowDown specializes in eyelash extensions and microblading. The business also provides education opportunities partnering with local Ogle Beauty School, where owner, Natetisha McIntosh, provides job opportunities for graduates and serves as a guest lecturer and also serves as the only school in Denton where someone can receive a lash specialty license through the State.  Natetisha also offers areola tattoos for women who have been impacted by breast cancer. This service is an example of how they are leaders and innovators in their industry. LashUp BrowDown has served Denton since 2016 and is located at 809 N. ABOUT THE AWARD

Each year the Economic Development Partnership Board recognizes a small and large business for their contribution to the economic growth and prosperity of the Denton community. This year the Board voted to create the category of Minority/Women/Veteran Owned Business of the Year. Businesses are nominated by the Economic Development Partnership Board members for such worthy contributions as public/private partnerships, job creation, community relations and support, longevity and commitment to the community, leadership in their respective industry, successful business practices, innovation, and environmental stewardship.  Recipient selection criteria previously adopted by the Economic Development Partnership Board is utilized to aid in the nomination and selection of a recipient company. Consideration is for business exhibiting these characteristics September 2020 – August 2021.
