Wholesale beer distributor, Fisher59, was named Large Business of the Year by the Denton Economic Development Partnership Board. Community contributions, innovation, length of time in community, and partnerships were some of the key contributors in the selection of Fisher59.

During the 2021 winter storm Uri, Fisher 59 coordinated with other Denton small businesses to distribute 600 cases of bottled water for nonprofits and residents. In addition, the company are patrons of the Denton Chamber of Commerce, the Denton Black Chamber of Commerce, the Denton Parks Foundation, Denton Benefit League, CASA, and Our Daily Bread. Fisher also supports UNT's Accounting Advisory board and the North Texas State Fair Association.

Fisher59 opened in Denton in 1983. During that time, they’ve built three different warehouses in Denton. The newest addition, a 215,000 square foot distribution warehouse, is located on West University Drive. The Fisher Family made a significant investment in automation technology in the new warehouse. The technology uses robots to put away, retrieve, and replenish beer within the warehouse. As a result, Fisher59 can be more efficient in a smaller space. In addition to technology being deployed on-site, the company also equipped the customer service teams with the latest mobile technology. The new warehouse was built with a fortified structure to accommodate the addition of solar panels in the future, and fleet telematics gives the capacity to manage idle times and fuel consumption to reduce Fisher's carbon footprint.

Fisher59 was able to maintain staffing levels during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to keeping staff levels, Fisher59 hired local service industry workers who could not go to work otherwise. Additionally, the company has seen a 12% increase in staffing levels in the last five years.

Fisher59 is developing a partnership with the State of Texas for a Commercial Driver’s License education program. The partnership fills a void as the only private CDL training school in the City of Denton.
