Project Status

The City’s contractor, Quality Excavation, LLC, is scheduled to reopen E. Windsor Drive (N. Locust to Stuart) by Saturday, August 1. In the next phase of improvements, beginning August 1, Hercules Street (N. Locust to Stuart) will have a temporary eastbound lane closure in place to allow crews to safely complete curb, gutter, and street construction.

Project Background

Several reconstruction projects are planned to maintain the overall health of our transportation and utility infrastructure network. The 2019 Streets Reconstruction Project will include reconstruction of the following four roadways:
  • Windsor Drive, from N. Locust Street to east of Old North Road
  • Scripture Street from Thomas Street to Jagoe Street
  • Thomas Street from Panhandle Street to Oak Street
  • Hercules Lane from N. Locust Street to Sherman Drive
The Windsor segment is adjacent to two DISD schools (Strickland Middle and Wilson Elementary School). Adjacent street reconstruction activities will be phased to occur during summer months to minimize disruption to school.
