  • Homeschool Opportunities

    Homeschool courses will resume with normal programming. 
    PE 101, Ages 6-12
    Add physical education to your curriculum with this 90-minute class taught by Bowmen Sports. Students will actively explore muiltiple sports in a fun, learning environment.

    Homeschool Tennis, Ages 6+
    Players learn basic strokes, scoring, and 
    the history of tennis in this comprehensive program suited for players of all ages and ability levels. Players are taught by a USTA certified tennis pro.

    Swim Lessons, ages 4-17
    Add physical education to your homeschool curriculum with swim lessons. Children will be divided according to their skill levels on the first day to fit individual needs. Class ratio of participant to instructor is 8:1.

    The Free Agent List is a way for team coordinators and/or players to find individuals interested in competing in the Denton Parks and Rec Adult Sports Leagues. If you are interested in being added, please email athletics@cityofdenton.com.
  • Youth Tennis
    Youth Tennis Lessons
    With progressive instruction in all aspects of tennis, we provide developmental steps for beginners up to state-ranked juniors. Players begin in their appropriate age group but may be bumped to a different level. We may combine age groups if a minimum of four students are not registered. No class Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving week, and MLK Jr. Day. Shorter sessions have reduced rates.

  • Adult Tennis
    Adult Leagues and Instruction
    Goldfield Tennis Center is currently closed. Itis adjacent to North Lakes Rec Center at 2005 W. Windsor Dr.
    The courts are all open and there are classes and clinics going on. There are nine lighted tennis courts with a backboard on Court 8. Click here for details and online registration.
    Adult Beginner tennis
    Players will be introduced to proper grips and how to hit a forehand, backhand, serve, and volley. Racquets are available to borrow. Click here for details and online registration.
  • Youth and Adult Golf
    Golf Lessons and Leagues
    Golf lessons are offered at North Lakes Driving Range located at 2009 W. Windsor Dr

    Golfers junior academy , AGES 6-18

    Classes are taught by an experienced PGA golf professional. Classes are divided by what grade they are in. Kids must wear appropriate golf clothing, tennis or golf shoes, and bring golf clubs. The academy has a limited number of clubs to borrow.

    Each month includes up to eight 45 minute lessons and a range card with $30 worth of credit. Range cards must be used in the month of classes, balances do not carry over . Register by the 25th of each month for the next session. Class size is capped at five students per instructor.

    Elementary, 6-11 years 
    Tuesdays at 5-5:45 p.m. | Saturdays at 9-9:45 a.m.

    Middle School, 11-14 years
    Tuesdays at 6-6:45 p.m. | Saturdays at 10-10:45 a.m.

    High School, 14-18 years
    Tuesdays at 6-6:45 p.m. | Saturdays at 10-10:45 a.m.

    Level 1: Full Swing Intro 
    Students will learn grip, setup basic swing motion and balanced finish. 
    Level 2: Full Swing Improvement & Short Game Intro
    Students will apply their knowledge to  chipping and putting in addition to full swing, ball striking, and introduction to competition.
    Level 3: Advanced Beginner
    Students will develop a mental pre-shot routine checklist, understanding of club selection distances, safety, rules, player’s etiquette and player competition.
    Level 4: Advanced Player
    Kids will work on short putt technique, long putt control, chipping low, and clubs.

    Private and Group Lessons
    We offer both group and private lessons with golf pros, and a youth program. 
  • Martial Arts
    Red Tiger Karate

    Red Tiger offers a complete white through black belt program. The junior program develops self-esteem, bully defense, respect for others, and more. Teen and adult classes focus on street self-defense, fitness, and personal development. A white uniform is required and may be purchased in class. For more information, call (817) 845-1557. 

    Texas Isshinryu Karate -Currently Not Offered

    Karate is more than punching and kicking. Age appropriate classes develop character values and skills for success at home, at school, or at work, and in the dojo.
    Adults also find stress relief and a way to stay young. Classes for the whole family improve focus, confidence, discipline, fitness, and self-defense. With an emphasis on traditional values through the study of traditional martial arts, students improve balance, coordination, and body strength. Students can earn patches, belts, stripes, and other distinctions. First trial class is free.
