Per Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-30, any outdoor gathering in excess of 10 people, other than those set forth in his order, are prohibited unless the mayor of the city in which the gathering is held approves of the gathering, and such approval can be made subject to certain conditions or restrictions not inconsistent with GA-30.
Please complete the form below to request Mayoral approval for an outdoor gathering in excess of 10 people. Include as much detail as possible
and/or attach any documents relating to event plans and COVID-19 safety precautions.
All approvals will be contingent upon:
- All individuals must wear a face covering in accordance with GA-29;
- The event must be in compliance of all requirements of GA-32;
- Sufficient staff or volunteers are available to implement the event’s COVID-19 safety precautions; and
- All individuals should maintain 6 feet of separation from others outside the individual’s group. A group is defined as no more than 10 persons including the members of the household and those persons who traveled together to the event.
Additional details may be requested by City of Denton staff. Please allow at least one week for review. At the Mayor’s discretion, requests may be referred to the Denton City Council for input and may take longer to review.
