Project Status

Crews are currently completing utility relocations for the project. Road construction and drainage improvements will soon follow.

Project Background

Residents and travelers along Teasley Lane/FM 2181 in south Denton know this area can get very busy. To relieve congestion and better accommodate growth, the existing two-lane road is being widened to a six-lane divided urban roadway from Lillian Miller Parkway to the Corinth city limit.

Project Updates

January 31: Beginning 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3., Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will temporarily close Ranchman Boulevard at Farm-to-Market 2181 (FM 2181). The temporary closure is expected to last three weeks to allow TxDOT crews to safely install a waterline in the area. During this time, FM 2181 will remain open to traffic. Message boards are in place to alert drivers of the temporary closure and detour routes in place.

At this time, the closure for the east side of FM 2181 has been extended to May 31 as a safety precaution due to the area not properly being grated to support traffic. FM 2181 traffic will not be affected, and the detour route is still in place. Motorists are encouraged to continue using caution when traveling in the area.
