Designing and improving recreation and public safety facilities are a key priority for ensuring that Denton is a desirable and safe community. These are the current and upcoming recreation and public safety projects for 2019.

G. Roland Vela Athletic Complex
The G. Roland Vela Athletic Complex will be Denton's new multi-purpose athletic complex.

Fire Station No. 3
The new Fire Station No. 3 will be built to accommodate growth, with the ability to house an additional ladder truck and up to 12 firefighters in the future.

Fire Station No.8 
The new Fire Station No. 8 will be an 8,500-square-foot station with space for six firefighters.

North Lakes Dog Park
The new 3.65-acre dog park will be located at North Lakes Park, near the Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Mckenna Park
McKenna Park is an 18-acre, neighborhood park with planned improvements for  including additional walkways, landscaping, and a new playground. 

Goldfield Tennis Center
The Goldfield Tennis Center improvement project will incude a new Pro Shop, amentities, tennis courts, and ground improvements.
