Fire Station No. 3 will be built on the corner of McCormick and Underwood Streets across from the existing station. The new station will be greatly expanded, with 16,000 square feet of space, four apparatus bays, and a room for a police office. The station will be built to accommodate growth, with the ability to house an additional ladder truck and up to 11 firefighters in the future.
Phase 1 of construction on Station 3 was completed in February 2021. Following Phase 1 of construction, demolition of the old station and new public parking will be complete by spring 2021.

Construction continues to progress on Station 3. Crews recently laid the cement foundation and installed steel framing.
August 1: Construction continues for the 16,000-square-foot facility next to the current station at McCormick Street. The new station will house up to 11 firefighters. The planned opening date is on schedule for summer 2020.
Due to the increased building footprint of the new station, the City of Denton closed a segment of McCormick Street, from Underwood Street to Avenue A, in preparation for the reconstruction of Fire Station 3.
