One Pedestrian Injured in Overnight Crash

DENTON, TX, May 10, 2019 – On Friday, May 10 at approximately 2:02 a.m., University of North Texas police officers witnessed a crash between a vehicle and two pedestrians at the intersection of Mulberry St. and Welch St. UNT PD was able to stop the suspect one block south of the accident until Denton Police arrived.

Denton PD traffic officers responded to the scene and conducted an investigation into the crash. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested for Intoxication Assault and transported to the Denton City Jail.
  
One male pedestrian was transported to Medical City Denton and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with a brain hemorrhage, numerous facial lacerations, and other minor injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery. The other pedestrian, a female, declined medical transport.
