Teasley Lane/FM 2181

Project Status

Currently, construction to widen the road from the Corinth city limits to Lillian Miller Parkway has been tempoarily suspended as TxDOT selects a new contractor.

Project Background

Residents and travelers along Teasley Lane/FM 2181 in south Denton know this area can get very busy. To relieve congestion and better accommodate growth, the existing two-lane road is being widened to a six-lane divided urban roadway from Lillian Miller Parkway to the Corinth city limit.

Project Updates

October 31: TxDOT has selected a new contractor to complete work on FM 2181. The contractor is expected to mobilize and begin construction in the area in November. Updates will be provided as they are shared and progress continues on this active project.
------

July 17: TxDOT continues in the bidding process to approve a new contractor to complete the project. To ensure safety in the area for pedestrians and bicyclists, the pedestrian pathway and all vegetation will be cleared.

------
June 7: Excavation areas have been filled and barricades blocking Ranchman to Teasley have been removed. Environmental protection controls and barricades will be maintained to ensure safety. TxDOT is continuing the bidding process to approve a new contractor to complete the project.
------
March 24: Work has been suspended on the construction at Ranchman Boulevard as TxDOT is working to reopen the bidding process and approve a new contractor to complete the project.
At this time, the closure for the east side of FM 2181 has been extended to May 31 as a safety precaution due to the area not properly being grated to support traffic. FM 2181 traffic will not be affected, and the detour route is still in place. Motorists are encouraged to continue using caution when traveling in the area.
