Currently, the project contractor is preparing to begin construction on Hickory Creek Road (Teasley Lane/FM 2181 to FM 2499).
The Hickory Creek Road East Project will improve mobility and safety in the area by expanding the existing roadway to include four main lanes, a median, and turn lanes.
October 5: Message boards and traffic control signage is now in place to notify community members and motorists of the upcoming construction on Hickory Creek Road. Weather permitting, a phase of construction is scheduled to begin on Hickory Creek Road (Teasley Lane FM 2181 to Barrel Strap/FM 2499) Tuesday, October 6 through February 2021. During construction, lanes of Hickory Creek Road will be temporarily closed to traffic in phases. Access will be maintained for local residents and property owners throughout the temporary lane closures.
Here’s what to expect during the upcoming phase of construction on Hickory Creek Road
- To allow crews to safely complete the improvements, Hickory Creek Road (Teasley Lane FM 2181 to Barrel Strap/FM 2499) will have a temporary lane and sidewalk closure in place. Signage is posted to alert those in the area of the temporary sidewalk access and traffic lane restrictions.
- Crews will continue constructing an acceleration lane from Hickory Creek Road onto FM 2499, complete drainage improvements, and treat the subgrade for the new roadway lanes.
Following this phase of construction, crews will begin constructing the median. Similar traffic restrictions will be in place during this time as well. Detailed lane closure information will be shared to impacted residents and property owners in advance.
August 12: Weather permitting, the City contractor will begin construction the week of August 24th on Hickory Creek Road (Teasley Lane/FM 2181 to FM 2499).
