“I am humbled and thrilled to join the City of Denton as the Municipal Judge,” said Judge Fox.  “It is an honor to be selected for this position, and I look forward to helping the Denton Municipal Court continue to be an innovative leader among courts in Texas with a continued dedication to administering justice in an efficient, equitable, and compassionate manner.”
Judge Fox brings a wealth of experience in municipal and criminal law to the City of Denton. Furthermore, she served as an Associate Judge and Magistrate for the City of the Colony and the Town of Flower Mound. She has also served as a Municipal Court Prosecutor in the Town of Bartonville, the City of Corinth, the City of Denton, the City of Keller, the Town of Argyle, and a few other municipalities in the surrounding counties. Judge Fox holds a diverse employment background in criminal justice, previously working as a Special Agent with the FBI in the New York field office, an Assistant Criminal District Attorney, and a criminal defense attorney.
Judge Fox earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Texas Tech University. She also trained at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
“The City Council is excited to welcome Judge Fox to the City of Denton,” said Mayor Chris Watts. “Judge Fox has demonstrated throughout her career that she is dedicated to justice and has the experience to effectively lead the Denton Municipal Court.”
The City of Denton asked Dallas-based executive recruitment firm Springstead|Waters to conduct a search for candidates. After a total of 30 applicants responded, the list was narrowed to five finalists based on the candidate applications, resumes, and supplemental materials. The Council held interviews on Jan. 7.
