The City of Denton Civil Service Commission is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Texas Local Government Code governing police and fire; includes approval of eligibility hiring lists; holds hearings, upon appeal, on matters of promotions, performance, reclassifications, and other civil service issues.
Civil Service Commissioners serve 3-year terms and must meet certain eligibility requirements. Additional information about the responsibilities of the Civic Service Commission and eligibility requirements are available here.
Any eligible Denton residents should submit a letter of interest stating why they are want to serve on the Commission and confirmation they meet eligibility requirements. Letters of interest should be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, August 10 to be considered.
