National Night Out

National Night Out, an event hosted by the National Association of Town Watch, occurs on the first Tuesday in October. Participating is a great way to build community and promote police-community partnerships to that helps to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

Neighborhood Activities

During National Night Out, residents are encouraged to turn on their porch lights, open their doors, and spend the evening outside with their neighbors. Millions of neighborhoods take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities across the country. The method of hosting the activities and social gatherings are decided by each individual neighborhood.

The 2018 National Night Out is Tuesday, October 2. Gatherings such as cookouts, neighborhood walks, block parties, or pool parties will take place across Denton and the Nation on this night.

If you or your neighborhood is holding an event or activity for National Night Out and would like a representative from the City of Denton to attend (including the Police or Fire Department), please fill out the registration form (link is on the right sidebar).
