Pollinator Week 2019

Pollinator Week allows us as a community to focus on the urgent issue of declining pollinator populations. During this week, we strive to educate all members of the community about the importance of pollinators and the services they provide to our ecosystem. Join us as we celebrate and recognize the contributions of bees, butterflies, birds, bats and beetles.

Pollinator Storytime at Clear Creek - June 18, 11 to 11:30 a.m.
Join us for a special pollinator-themed StoryTime with Denton Public Library's Kerol Harrod! We will meet inside the education center at Clear Creek to read books and sing songs all about bees and butterflies. There is no cost to attend.

Pollinator Volunteer Event at Clear Creek - June 19, 10 a.m. to noon
We are looking for volunteers to help with our demonstration gardens and collecting seeds. Volunteers will work with our staff at Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center.

Pollinator Activity at South Branch Library - June 22, 10 a.m. to noon
Get ready for Pollinator Week with activities hosted by Sustainable Denton and Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center. We will learn about pollinators and do hands-on crafts with flower, butterfly, and bee themes. Best for ages 5-9.

Bee Class for Kids at Clear Creek- June 22, 10 a.m. to noon
Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center welcomes children ages 5 and up to a class all about the bees presented by Denton County Beekeepers Association. This workshop will cover: life of the honey bees, pollination, how important pollinators are to the environment! Participants can also help build seed balls for the pollinator prairie or to take home. All children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
