Denia Rec Center, 1001 Parvin St.

The City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a series of Open House Community Input Workshops to supplement the Needs Assessment Survey that will be used to help develop a new Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan.

The purpose of these workshops is to provide an opportunity for the community to engage in six different visual and interactive “Pick, Stick, and Play” stations designed to receive input on the following areas of parks, recreation, and trails:

Station #1 Facilities | rec centers, skate park, amphitheater, sports facilities, etc.
Station #2 Parks | spraygrounds, playgrounds, parks, open space, etc.
Station #3 Programming | aquatics, camps, sports leagues, classes, etc.
Station #4 Furnishings | water fountains, restrooms, shade structures, etc.
Station #5 Technology | Wi-Fi, solar charging stations, GIS apps, etc.
Station #6 Trails and Natural Areas | trails, mountain biking, bike stations, etc.

Staff representatives from the Parks and Recreation Department will be on site to facilitate this collaborative process, receive input, and answer questions to increase the department’s understanding of what the community wants for new developments that could be considered as part of the future master plan.

Residents unable to attend are welcome to submit input via email to Gary Packan, Director of Parks and Recreation at gary.packan@cityofdenton.com or call (940) 349-7460. For more information about the development of the Denton Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan, visit www.dentonparksmasterplan.com.
