Public Meeting for Recreation Centers and Programs Focus Group

The City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a focus group meeting for public input on recreation centers and services from members, renters, program participants, and interested users to supplement the Needs Assessment Survey as part of the future Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan.
 
The public meeting will be held on Thursday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St. Onsite child care for ages 3+ will be available for attendees at no cost.
 
The Parks and Recreation Department currently manages programs, rentals, events, and operations for Denia Rec Center, MLK Jr. Rec Center, North Lakes Rec Center, ALH Senior Center, and Denton Senior Center. Staff representatives from the centers will be on site to receive input on current programs and facilities, identify future trends and needs, and discuss potential new programs, events, and partnerships that could be considered as part of the future master plan.
 
Residents unable to attend are welcome to submit input via email to Gary Packan, Director of Parks and Recreation, at Gary.Packan@cityofdenton.com or call (940) 349-7460.
