I-35 Mobility Improvements Include Temporary Ramp Closure

12/8/2017 12:00:00 AM

TxDOT officials announced that the entrance ramp from southbound US 77 onto southbound Interstate 35E will be closed for up to one year, beginning Monday.

The closure is part of a construction project aimed at adding capacity and easing congestion along I-35E. Lane closures are expected southbound on I-35 on Sunday and Monday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

“When complete, lane capacity at the Loop 288 intersection of I-35E will be doubled,” said Mark Nelson, Director of Transportation for the City of Denton. “The project will also expand I-35E to three lanes in each direction, add a south to north u-turn at Mayhill Road, and grade separation at Brinker Road providing additional options for local traffic in the area.”
