Volunteer

Make a difference by volunteering! The City of Denton and our partners provide a variety of volunteer opportunities for you to give back to the community and serve neighbors in need.

Volunteer for Stream Clean
Volunteers are organized by the City and Keep Denton Beautiful. Hosted every fall, this waterway cleanup event targets specific waterways in and around Denton. When litter makes its way into storm drains and drainage ditches, it ends up in our lakes, streams, and rivers. To receive information about this year's Stream Clean event, which is tentatively planned for a Saturday in October, fill out the volunteer form accessible on this page.

Volunteer at Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center
Volunteers from the community and local organizations are a major contribution to the maintenance of the trails system, as well as the success of events and projects at Clear Creek. To get involved complete the form below.

Volunteer for the Library
Teen and adult volunteers help build community by promoting lifelong learning, encouraging human connections, and sharing resources. Volunteers must attend an orientation session and pass a background check. NOTE: Orientations are not for completing court-ordered community service.

Citizen Police Volunteer Program
Volunteers are trained to provide support in field and support operations, for traffic surveys, and at special events. Complete the form below to receive additional information on registering.

Parks and Recreation Volunteer Coaches
Volunteer coaches are needed for all youth leagues. To learn more complete the form below.

Volunteer at the Animal Shelter
Volunteers give their hearts, their time, and their all to make every day special for the animals waiting to be adopted. Volunteers fill a variety of roles to help support our shelter staff - from dog walking to assisting with animal care and adoptions. Volunteers must attend an orientation session before interacting with shelter pets. We accept volunteers as young as age 13.

NOTE: Court-Ordered Community Service
To ask about fulfilling hours for court-mandated community service, contact the Denton Public Library at (940) 349-8752 and the Parks and Recreation Department at (940) 349-7275.
