Our rec centers offer state of the art fitness equipment, gymnasiums, activities, programs, and a whole lot more!

  • North Lakes Rec Center and Annex
    North Lakes Rec Center and Annex

    North Lakes is a 17,417-square-foot facility with a cardio room, weight room, indoor basketball/volleyball court, and three multi-purpose areas that are available for rentals.

    The Annex offers a part-time preschool licensed by the Texas Dept. Family and Protective Services. 

    Hours of Operation
    Monday-Thursday, 5:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
    Friday, 5:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
    Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-3:15.p.m.
    Closed Sunday

    Fitness Membership
    Includes access to the weight room and cardio room.

    Group Exercise and Fitness Classes
    We offer a group exercise membership, as well as à la carte fitness classes. Learn more on our health and fitness page.

    Rec Pass
    $10 per year with a max of $40 per family and nonresident passes cost $15 per year with a max of $60 per family. Includes access to the gym, open volleyball Tuesday and Thursday night, 8-9:45 p.m. and open pickleball every Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30-3 p.m. Fee-based activities do not require a rec pass.

    MLK Jr. Rec Center is a 21,560-square-foot facility with a combined cadio-weight room, indoor basketball court, a computer room, a game room, an arts and crafts room, and a multi-purpose room adjacent to a kitchen that is available for rentals.

    The center also offers a full-time preschool licensed by the Texas Dept. Family and Protective Services.

    Hours of Operation
    Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
    Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
    Closed Sunday

    Fitness Membership
    Includes access to a combined cardio-weight room.

    Zumba® 
    Every Monday and Wednesday, 6-7 p.m. and Saturday, noon-1 p.m.
    ​$30 per 10 classes or $5 per drop-in.

    Rec Pass

    Activities and Programs
    MLK Jr. Rec Center offers an array of fee-based programs that includes Red Tiger Karate, spring break and summer camps, Zumba®, adult swing dance, boxing, and more. Learn more on our rec programs page.

    Facility Rentals
    All rentals require a $100 security deposit. Depending on the number of guests, rentals may require an additional staffing fee. Alcohol is not permitted.

    Denia Rec Center is a 17,415-square-foot facility with a combined cadio-weight room, indoor basketball court, a game room with public computers, an indoor rock climbing wall and three multi-purpose rooms (one includes a refrigerator) that are available for rentals. The center also offers a full-time preschool licensed by the Texas Dept. Family and Protective Services.

    Monday-Wednesday, 7 a.m.-9 p.m.
    Thursday-Friday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
    Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

    Denton Senior Center

    Denton Senior Center is a 19,430-square-foot facility with a state-of-the-art fitness room, woodshop, game room, library, and several multipurpose rooms. The center serves as a gathering place for adults, age 50 and older, to enjoy daily SPAN lunches and fellowship, monthly socials and seminars, frequent trips, and special events.

    Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
    Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; closed Sunday

    Programs, Classes, Activities, and MORE
    The senior center offers an array of programs that includes Zumba® Gold, Tai Chi, dance classes, outdoor recreation, ceramics, and more. Explore more HERE.

    Fitness Membership
    Includes access to a state-of-the-art fitness room with treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, leg-extension, and bicep-curl machine, chest press, shoulder press, triceps press, hip abductor/adductor, ab crunch, and free weights. One month, $15; three months, $35; one year, $100

    Rec Pass and Drop-in Activities
    Rec pass is $10 a year for residents and $15 a year for nonresidents. A complete list of daily activities can always be found in the newsletter.

    Span Meals, weekdays at noon
    Coordinated by SPAN (Special Programs for Aging Needs). Lunches may be reserved up to one week in advance but no later than noon the day before. The suggested donation is $2 for those 60 and older; individuals younger than 60 may eat for $5.

    Faciliy Rentals
    All rentals require a $300 security deposit, cash or money order only. We do not accept rentals extending past midnight. We provide tables and chairs, but the renter is responsible for all set-up and clean-up. For rentals ending at midnight, clean-up must be complete by 1 a.m. Alcohol is not permitted.

    American Legion Hall

    The American Legion Hall serves as a gathering place for adults, age 50 and older, to partake in daily SPAN lunches, fellowship and monthly socials, seminars, and frequent trips. Activities include sewing, exercise, table games and puzzles, and bingo.

    Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
    Thursday, 6-9 p.m.
    Saturday and Sunday, closed

    Span Meals, weekdays at noon
    Balanced daily meals are coordinated by SPAN (Services for Aging Needs). Lunches may be reserved up to two days in advance but no later than noon the day before. The suggested donation is $1.50 for those 60 and older; individuals younger than 60 may eat for $3.50.

    ALH Senior Road Trips
    Senior trips are $10 per person, unless otherwise noted. Trips are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will enjoy a Dutch-treat lunch on day trips. To register, call (940) 349-8298.
